EAST DIVISION

Branches
Special Operations Unit - When officers are faced with high risk situations, the Sheriff's Department's Special Operations Unit team is brought in to end the situation. Trained for close quarter and long range environments, each team member is fitted for any situation. Although, the Special Operations Unit is rarely used, it does not get called out unless the situation highly requires it.
Air Support - Used quite frequently, the Aviation branch in the Sheriff's Department helps monitor ground activity from a safe distance. Pilots are trained under the most difficult conditions. Other than monitoring ground activity, the Aviation branch is able to set up touch-n-go roadblocks during pursuits and is able to transport S.W.A.T. members to high risk situations.
Patrol
The fastest criminals require the fastest cops... Mixed in with the patrol division is several units. First off is the Major Crimes Unit. Major Crimes conducts direct hits on "AT LARGE" criminals (RED DOTS). Drug Task Force focuses on illegal drug, weapon, and vehicle activity. The Speed Enforcement branch in the Sheriff's Department is trained with skilled driving so that pursuits are contained and ended quickly. Training requires skill at driving off-road, speeding through alleyways to cut off criminals, setting up roadblocks, and many other things.
Harbor Patrol
Though rare, the need for boats may arise and when that time does officers are trained on how to deal with waves and how to control their boats. This is the least used branch so far but the most helpful when it is needed.
Dispatch
Receive emergency calls requesting police, fire, medical or other emergency services. Determine the nature and location of the emergency; determine priorities, and dispatch police, fire ambulance or other emergency units, maintain contact with all units on assignment, maintain status and location of police and fire units.
